Page is a Group Feature that enables members of one group to page (broadcast one-way speakerphone calls) to all members of another group. The page feature is similar to the intercom feature, except a page is a one-way speakerphone call that is broadcast to multiple group members at the same time, while an intercom is a two-way speakerphone call that is made to just one group member.
Initiating a Page
To initiate a page, use the instructions below for the brand of phone used in your Sky phone system:
Using IP 400 Series Phones
- Dial *74 + the paging extension.
- Speak into the phone to initiate a one-way speakerphone call.
- Hang up when finished.
Note that a list of paging groups is not displayed on IP 400-series phones.
Using Cisco 7900 Series Phones
- Select the Services button.
- Select Paging groups.
- Use the scroll buttons to highlight the group you wish to page.
- Press the Select soft key.
- Speak into the phone to initiate a one-way speakerphone call.
- Hang up when finished.
Paging Limitations
- Paging Groups can be used to page up to 8 phones for a location that is utilizing a single T1 circuit. However, if additional bandwidth is available, up to 15 phones may be paged. Exceeding these limits will most likely result in loss of call quality for the one-way speakerphone calls.
- Pages will only be broadcast to phones that are not on an active call.
- Paging groups are an optional feature permission that may or may not be implemented for your organization.
Requesting Changes to Paging Groups
To make changes to the page groups on your phone system, an Authorized Contact who is a Decision Maker or Phone Manager should contact Support. For each page group that you want created or modified, provide the names, phone numbers, and locations of the members of your organization who should be able to:
