Pickup is a Group Feature in theĀ Sky phone system that enables members of one group to answer calls that are ringing the phones of members of another group. By default, any phone in your phone system can be answered using the Pickup feature. However, an Authorized Contact may decide to exclude certain phones from accessing this feature or to create multiple Pickup groups within your phone system to control use of this feature.
Answering Calls
To answer an incoming call that is ringing another phone, use the instructions below for the brand of phone used in your Sky phone system:
Using IP 400-Series Phones
- Press the Pickup soft key.
- Dial the extension of the phone that you want to answer.
Note that you can pickup incoming calls for any ringing phone that you have permission to pickup, but a list of these incoming calls is not available on IP 400-series phones.
Using Cisco 7900-Series Phones
- Press the Pickup soft key. If you have permission to pickup calls, a list of incoming calls for the members of your pickup group will appear on the phone's screen (identified by the ringing phone's number).
- Use the scroll button to highlight the call you want to answer and press the Select soft key. The Caller ID of the calling party is shown.
- Press the Pickup soft key to answer the call.
Requesting Changes to Pickup Groups
To make changes to the pickup groups in your Sky phone system, Authorized Contacts (Decision Makers and Phone Managers) can manage their account Groups.
