LNP (Local Number Portability)

LNP (Local Number Portability) is a process that enables customers and owners of existing phone numbers, which are assigned by a Local Exchange Carrier, to reassign the numbers to one of the following:

• a different carrier - known as Service Provider Portability
• a different location - known as Geographic Portability
• a different type of service - known as Service Portability
