Backup Circuit Solution refers to the use of your non-MiCloud/Sky Internet connection as a backup circuit for your MiCloud or Sky phone system. In the event of a primary failure of your MiCloud/Sky managed access link, the voice traffic for your phone system can utilize this backup circuit for automatic fail over. RingCentral encourages customers to utilize their non-MiCloud/Sky Internet connection for this purpose.

Customer must supply the following:
- A broadband connection
- A static public IP address (exclusively for MiCloud/Sky's use)
- Subnet mask and default gateway
How to Setup Off-net Backup
An Authorized Contact (Decision Maker or Phone Manager) should fill out the Offnet Backup Request Form by following the instructions below:
- Click this link: Offnet Backup Request Form
- In the PowerForm Signer Information web page that opens, enter your name and business email address and click the Begin Signing button.
- Go to your email Inbox and find the validation email from DocuSign, which displays "Offnet Backup Request Form" in the subject.
- Note: If you do not see this validation email in your Inbox, check your Junk/Spam folder and if the email is found there, add the @docusign.net domain to the safe list in the Junk settings area of your email system.
- Copy the signing validation code displayed in the email and either return to the previous web page opened via the form link or click the RESUME SIGNING button in the email.
- Paste the signing validation code in the Access Code field and click VALIDATE.
- When the form opens, click CONTINUE if needed to access the form.
- For each page of the form, enter accurate information in each of the required fields (bordered in red) and in all other applicable fields. When information on one page is complete, scroll down to the next page or click NEXT on the left side of the page.
- When you get to the last page of the form and all necessary information has been entered, click the Sign button next to the Signature field and do one of the following:

If your signature is displayed, click the FINISH button at the top or bottom of the form.

If this is your first time filling out a DocuSign form using the name and business email address entered in step 2 above, you are prompted to adopt a signature. When your signature is set, click the ADOPT AND SIGN button at the bottom of the form.
- When the form has been signed, a pop-up dialog will prompt you with options to download and print. You will also receive another email from DocuSign where you can view the completed form.
- After completing the Offnet Backup Request Form, contact the Account Manager for your MiCloud or Sky account, or create a Support Case to ensure that your location move is processed. Option 1 - Voice Backup
- MiCloud/Sky circuit provides primary connectivity for voice traffic to your phones.
- Your Internet Service Provider (ISP) provides connectivity for data traffic to your computer network.
- If a MiCloud/Sky circuit loses connectivity, voice traffic automatically begins routing over your ISP connection to MiCloud/Sky. Note that RingCentral cannot control ISP performance, so there is no Quality of Service guarantee for voice backup.
- Note that this option does NOT include data backup.

Option 2 - Data Backup
- MiCloud/Sky circuit provides primary connectivity for voice traffic to your phones.
- Your Internet Service Provider (ISP) provides connectivity for data traffic to your computer network.
- If your ISP fails, MiCloud/Sky circuit provides a data backup for your public internet access.
- Firewall must support Dual WAN connectivity. Firewall management is by your technical resource.
- 75% of MiCloud/Sky circuit bandwidth is reserved for voice traffic. Public data traffic will be throttled to prioritize voice traffic.
- MiCloud/Sky data backup does not include site-to-site connectivity for private data. However, the MiCloud/Sky-provided public IP address space can be used for site-to-site connectivity via a tunneling protocol, such as IPSEC/SSL VPN, but RingCentral will NOT configure, support, or troubleshoot site-to-site connectivity. RingCentral recommends using a third party ISP to establish site-to-site connections.
- Note that this option does NOT include voice backup
