In the Sky phone system, a user's Internal Caller ID is the name that is displayed on other users' phones when that user places internal 4-digit extension dial calls. This name is also listed in the Employee Directory and displayed on several screens in the Sky Account Portal that are accessible to only Authorized Contacts.
Changing a user's Internal Caller ID name can only be done by updating the Contact Information name in the user's Personal Information screen. When a user's "Contact Information" name is changed, it automatically updates the user's "Internal Caller ID" name that is displayed in the Phone Settings screen.
- NOTE: There is an exception to the above information. When a phone profile is not assigned to a contact, which means the Contact Name column of the Users screen displays "Unassigned" for that phone profile, the "Internal Caller ID" name in the Phone Settings screen can be edited (until the profile is assigned to a contact).
Changing Internal Caller ID
To change a user's Internal Caller ID name, which can be done by either a user or an Authorized Contact, do the following:
Users
- Log in to the Portal at Account Portal with your business username (typically your email address) and user password.
- Navigate to Home > Settings > Personal Information.
- In the Contact Information Name section, click the existing name to the right of First and/or Last, and edit as desired.
- Click the checkmark to the right of each edited name to save your changes.
Authorized Contacts
- Decision Makers and Phone Managers can log in to the Portal at Account Portal with your business username (typically your email address) and user password.
- Navigate to Phone System > Users.
- In the row of the desired user, click the link in the Contact Name column.
Alternatively, right-click within the row of the desired user and select Personal Information from the pop-up menu that appears. - In the Personal Information screen that appears displaying the Contact tab, find the Contact Information Name section.
- Click the existing name to the right of First and/or Last, and edit as desired.
- Click the checkmark to the right of each edited name to save your changes.
