In the Sky phone system, custom images, such as company logos, can be displayed as the background image or wallpaper on a phone that supports the use of images. The term “background image” is associated with Cisco phones and the term “wallpaper” is associated with IP 400 series phones.
Phones Supported for Background Images
The phone models listed below can display a custom background image:
- IP 400-series phone model IP485G (excludes models IP480 and IP480G)
- Cisco 7900 series phone models 7975G, 7971G, 7970G, 7965G, 7962G, 7961G (excludes models 7937, 7940 and 7960)
Requesting a Background Image
To customize the background image on the phones in your organization's phone system, an Authorized Contact can create a Support Case and email Support with a suitable image. Before emailing or uploading a background image, ensure that the image is a .png file that is 200 KB or smaller. Additionally, background images must display clearly in the pixel sizes listed next to each the supported phone models in the table below:
NOTE: The bit depth must be 32 for the image.

Selecting a Background Image
To add or change a background image on your phone, use the instructions below for the brand of phone used in your phone system:
Using IP 400-Series Phones
- Press the Options soft key
- Use the navigation keys to scroll to and highlight "Wallpaper"
- Press the Edit soft key
- Use the navigation keys to scroll to and highlight the desired image

Press the OK soft key
- Press the Exit soft key
Using Cisco 7900-Series Phones
- Select the "Settings" button
- Select "User Preferences"
- Select "Background Image"
- Choose the image you wish to set as your background image and save
Restrictions
- Keep the name of the file uploaded fairly simple with no special characters.
- The system will have the background set by default.
- Customers have the ability to upload up to 4 pictures.
