Information

An Associated Bridged Call Appearance (aBCA) is a Bridged Call Appearance (BCA) that is associated with a user's Shared Call Appearance (SCA). After an aBCA is created for a user's SCA, you can configure another user's IP programmable phone button with the aBCA, allowing the user to manage calls on the SCA extension.

You can add an aBCA from the Bridged Call Appearances page in the MiCloud Account Portal or by enabling SCA for a user from the Phone tab on the Phone Settings page. For information about enabling SCA from the Phone Settings page, see Configuring Shared Call Appearances.

Adding an Associated Bridged Call Appearance

  1. Log in to the Account Portal.
  2. On the Phone System menu, click Bridged Call Appearances.
  3. Under Manage Bridged Call Appearances, click Add.
The Add Bridged Call Appearance window opens.
  4. Beside Type, select Associated Bridged Call Appearance.
  5. Under Bridged Call Appearance Options, do the following:
    1. In the Extension field, enter the extension on which the aBCA receives calls.
The aBCA extension is assigned automatically. If you want to, you can change this extension to another available programming extension.
    2. In the User drop-down list, select the user profile whose SCA you want to associate with the aBCA.
    3. Click Show more settings to display the conferencing options.
    4. In the Conferencing Options list, select one of the following enablement options for the aBCA:
      • Disable Conferencing - to disable bridge conferencing for the aBCA.
      • Enable, others may not join (default) - to enable bridge conferencing for the aBCA and initially prevent other users of the aBCA from joining active aBCA conference calls.
      • Enable, others may join - to enable bridge conferencing for the aBCA and initially allow other users of the aBCA to join active aBCA conference calls.
    5. Do one of the following to select the conference tone option for the aBCA:
      • Select the Enable tone when parties join or leave to play a tone whenever another party joins or leaves a conference call on the aBCA.
      • Clear the Enable tone when parties join or leave if you do not want to play a tone whenever another party joins or leaves a conference call on the aBCA.
  6. Click Save.
SCA is enabled for the user profile you selected. You can now assign an IP phone button to the aBCA.
NOTE: aBCA is not compatible with Hunt Groups. When aBCA is enabled for a user, the user is automatically removed from any Hunt Groups to which the user was previously added.

Configuring an IP Phone Button for an aBCA Extension

A user answers an aBCA call by pressing an IP phone button that is assigned to an aBCA call stack position. IP phone buttons that answer calls are configured to handle calls to a specific call stack position of an aBCA. A button can be programmed for each position in the call stack.

  1. Log in to the Account Portal.
  2. On the Phone System menu, click Users.
  3. In the Service/Phone Name column, click the service/phone name for the user for whom you want to monitor another user’s SCA.
The Phone Settings page for the selected user is displayed.
  4. Select the Programmable Buttons tab.
  5. Click the subtab for the phone or button box for which you want to program a button for aBCA.
  6. Select the line button you want to configure.
The parameters for the selected line button are displayed to the right of the line buttons table.
