MiCloud Connect for Mobile extends voice and unified communications (UC) applications to mobile devices. Connect for Mobile users can leverage a single converged device for both business and personal communications and can access desk phone and UC capabilities on their smartphone or other mobile device. If you are a Decision Maker or Phone Manager, you can activate MiCloud Connect for Mobile for your account, enable Connect for Mobile for users on your account, and view Connect for Mobile settings for your account from the Account Portal.
NOTE: MiCloud Connect for Mobile is included with the Essentials, Premier, and Elite phone profile types. Users must have one of these profile types in order to use the MiCloud Connect for iOS and MiCloud Connect for Android applications.
Activating Connect for Mobile
Once you activate MiCloud Connect for Mobile from the Account Portal, you can enable Connect for Mobile for users. However, you must first contact Support to complete Connect for Mobile activation.
- Log in to the Account Portal.
- On the Phone System menu, click Add-On Features.
- To the right of Connect for Mobile click Activate.
The Connect Mobility Settings dialog box appears. - Under Connect Cloud Mobility Configuration, do the following:
- In the Voicemail Access Number field, type 8991.
- In the Access Number list, select the number to use when making a call on the cellular network.
- If any of the following fields are not already populated, select the indicated number in the corresponding list:
- Reverse Dial Number - 6465697332
- Handover Number - 6465697333
- Under Email Notifications, select the Send email notification checkbox to send an email notification to all Connect for Mobile users on the account any time changes are made to the Mobility settings.
- Click OK to save the settings.
- When prompted, click Yes to confirm the purchase.
- Contact Support to complete Connect for Mobile activation.
Viewing Connect Mobility Settings
The following information is displayed in the Connect Mobility Settings dialog:
- Mobility Router - the Mobility Router assigned to your account
- Group Name - the group name assigned to your account
- Voicemail Access Number - the 10-digit number used to access your business voicemail system
- Access Number - the access number used when making a call on the cellular network;
- Reverse Dial Number - the number used for reverse dial international calls; this number is managed by Support
- Handover Number - the number used when transitioning between a Wi-Fi or data connection and a cellular voice network; this number is managed by Support
To view Connect Mobility settings:
- Log in to the Account Portal.
- On the Phone System menu, click Add-On Features.
- To the right of Connect for Mobile, click Settings.
The Connect Mobility Settings dialog box appears.
Editing the Connect Mobility Settings
Only Support can update the Mobility settings for your account. However, you can choose whether or not to send an email notification to all Connect for Mobile users on your account when changes are made to the Mobility settings.
Sending Email Notifications
You can choose to send email notifications when changes are made to the Mobility settings.
- In the Add-On Features page, to the right of Connect for Mobile, click Settings.
The Connect Mobility Settings dialog box appears. - Under Email Notifications, select the Send email notification check checkbox to send an email notification to all Connect for Mobile users on the account any time changes are made to the Mobility settings.
- Click OK to save the settings.
Managing Connect for Mobile Users
You can manage Connect for Mobile for users on your account in the following ways:
- View a list of users that have Connect for Mobile enabled.
- Enable Connect for Mobile for individual users within your organization.
- Edit Mobility Extension for users.
- Disable Connect for Mobile for users.
Viewing Users with Access to Connect for Mobile
You can view a list of users that have Connect for Mobile enabled. The following information is displayed on the Connect for Mobile page:
- Name - user name as it appears in the MiCloud database
- Phone Number - telephone number for the user
- Extension - extension for the user
To view Users with access to Connect for Mobile:
- Log in to the Account Portal.
- On the Phone System menu, click Add-On Features, and then click Manage to the right of Connect for Mobile.
The Connect for Mobile page is displayed. - To filter the list, do one of the following:
- Type your filter criteria in the search field on the toolbar.
- Type your filter criteria under the appropriate column heading.
Enabling Connect for Mobile for a User
Once Connect for Mobile is activated for your account, you can enable Connect for Mobile for individual users within your organization.
To enable Connect for Mobile for a user:
- In the Connect for Mobile page, click Add on the toolbar.
The Add Connect for Mobile Users dialog box opens. - In the Select Users panel, do the following:
- To search for a user, type the name, number, or extension of the user in the Name or Number/Extension field.
- Select the checkbox next to each user you want to enable Connect for Mobile for.
- Click Next.
- In the Settings panel, double-click the Mobility Extension field of each user you selected and enter the extension number.
- Click Next.
- In the Summary panel, verify the displayed information and then click Finish.
- When prompted, click OK to confirm.
NOTE: The system extension provided in the Mobility Extension field is used to route calls to a specific user's Connect for Mobile application.
Editing Mobility Extension for a User
To edit the mobility extension for a user:
- Log in to the Account Portal.
- On the Phone System menu, click Add-On Features, and then click Manage to the right of Connect for Mobile.
The Connect for Mobile page is displayed. - In the Connect for Mobile page, right-click the name of the user for whom you want to edit the mobility extension, and then click Update Connect for Mobile.
The Edit Connect for Mobile Settings dialog box opens. - In the Mobility Extension text field, enter the extension number.
- Click OK.
The mobility extension number is updated.
Disabling Connect for Mobile for a User
To disable Connect for Mobile for a user:
- In the Connect for Mobile page, right-click the user you want to disable Connect for Mobile for and then click Disable Connect Cloud Mobility.
- When prompted, click Yes to confirm that you want to disable Connect for Mobile for the selected user.
