Information

MiCloud Connect for Mobile extends voice and unified communications (UC) applications to mobile devices. Connect for Mobile users can leverage a single converged device for both business and personal communications and can access desk phone and UC capabilities on their smartphone or other mobile device. Connect for Mobile is enabled automatically for all users on your account who have phone service that includes Connect for Mobile. As a MiCloud Administrator, you can enable and disable Connect for Mobile for users on your account, and you can view Connect for Mobile settings for your account from the Account Console.

NOTE: MiCloud Connect for Mobile is included with Essentials, Premier, and Elite phone services. Users must have one of these phone service types in order to use the Connect for iOS and Connect for Android applications.

Connect for Mobile Settings

The following information is displayed in the Connect Mobility Settings dialog:

  • Mobility Router - the Mobility Router assigned to your account
  • Group Name - the group name assigned to your account
  • Voicemail Access Number - the 10-digit number used to access your business voicemail system
  • Enable Video Mobility - determines whether or not users have video enabled for Connect for Mobile by default

To access Connect for Mobile settings:

  1. In the Account Console menu, click Add-On Apps and then click Manage Add-Ons.
  2. To the right of Connect for Mobile, click Settings.
    The Connect Mobility Settings dialog box appears.

Managing Connect for Mobile Users

You can manage Connect for Mobile for users on your account in the following ways:

  • View a list of users that have Connect for Mobile enabled.
  • Enable Connect for Mobile for individual users within your organization.
  • Edit Mobility Extension for users.
  • Disable Connect for Mobile for users.

To view Users with access to Connect for Mobile:

  1. In the Account Console menu, click Add-On Apps and then click Manage Add-Ons.
  2. To the right of Connect for Mobile, click Manage.
    The Manage Connect for Mobile page is displayed.

Enabling Connect for Mobile for a User

You can enable Connect for Mobile for individual users within your organization from the Manage Connect for Mobile page or from the add or edit user panel.

  1. In the Account Console menu, click Add-On Apps and then click Manage Add-Ons.
  2. To the right of Connect for Mobile, click Manage.
  3. Click Add on the toolbar.
    The Add Connect for Mobile Users dialog box appears.
  4. In the Select Users panel, select the checkbox next to each user you want to enable Connect for Mobile for, and then click Next.
  5. In the Settings panel, double-click the Mobility Extension field of each user you selected and enter each user's extension number.
  6. Click Next.
  7. In the Summary panel, verify the displayed information and then click Finish.
  8. When prompted, click OK to confirm.

Note: The system extension provided in the Mobility Extension field is used to route calls to a specific user's Connect for Mobile application.

Editing Mobility Extension for a User

To edit mobility extension for a user:
  1. In the Account Console menu, click Add-On Apps and then click Manage Add-Ons.
  2. To the right of Connect for Mobile, click Manage.
    The Connect for Mobile page is displayed.
  3. In the Connect for Mobile page, right-click the name of the user for whom you want to edit the mobility extension, and then click Update Connect for Mobile.
    The Edit Connect for Mobile Settings dialog box opens.
  4. In the Mobility Extension text field, enter the new extension number.
  5. Click OK.
    The mobility extension number is updated.

Disabling Connect for Mobile for a User

You can disable Connect for Mobile for individual users from the Manage Connect for Mobile page or from the add or edit user panel.
  1. In the Connect for Mobile page, right-click the user you want to disable Connect for Mobile for and then click Disable Connect Cloud Mobility.
  2. When prompted, click Yes to confirm that you want to disable Connect for Mobile for the selected user.
