Information

MiCloud users can configure Power Routing rules which provide a flexible way to screen incoming calls. Decision Makers and Phone Managers can also configure Power Routing rules for users on their accounts.

The Power Routing subtab displays the user’s current Power Routing rules in order of priority. Power Routing rules provide a flexible way to screen incoming calls to a user’s phone number and choose how to forward the calls.

Creating a Power Routing Rule

You can choose to forward calls based on specific criteria, such as the incoming phone number, the number the caller dialed to reach the user, the user’s availability state, as well as the time of day or day of the week the call is received. Calls can be forwarded to the user’s voicemail, to a number that has been configured for the user for Simultaneous Ring, or to another number.

  1. Log in to the Account Portal.
  2. On the Phone Settings page, click the Call Routing tab, and then click the Power Routing subtab.
  3. Click Create New Power Rule.
The Create New Power Rule dialog box appears.
  4. In the Rule Name field, type a name for the Power Routing rule.
  5. Under When, select the desired criteria for forwarding calls, and then click Add.
The rule is displayed in the Description area. For information about the call routing options, see the Power Routing Options table.
  6. Repeat step 4 to add additional call criteria.
  7. Under Then Forward Call To, you can perform one of the following:
    • Select the first option or field, and then select one of the following in the list:
      • Voicemail - to forward all calls that meet the selected criteria to the user’s voicemail box.
      • Auto FindMe - to forward all calls that meet the selected criteria to the user’s voicemail box and automatically initiate Find Me; Find Me is not available if Mobility is configured for the user.
      • Announced FindMe - to forward all calls that meet the selected criteria to the user’s voicemail box and allow the caller to initiate Find Me; Find Me is not available if Mobility is configured for the user.
      • Ring My Extension - to forward all calls that meet the selected criteria to the user’s extension.
    • Select the middle option or field, begin typing a telephone number, name, or extension to which you want to forward all calls that meet the selected criteria, and then do one of the following:
      • Click the desired user, phone number, or extension when it appears in the drop-down list.
      • Click Make an external call to when it appears in the drop-down list, and then finish entering the desired external phone number.
    • Select the bottom option, and then select the previously configured number to which you want to forward all calls that meet the selected criteria.
Previously configured numbers are numbers that are configured for the user’s main call routing settings. For information about changing these numbers, see Configuring Main Call Routing Settings.
  8. Click OK to save your settings and close the dialog box.
