Overview
MiCloud for Microsoft Teams brings robust, enterprise-grade communication and collaboration capabilities to the Teams desktop and mobile applications. With the MiCloud for MS Teams Integration, users can make calls (to DID and to external numbers), and initiate meetings in MS Teams.
MiCloud for Microsoft Teams is supported in North America, UK, and Australia.
IMPORTANT: MiCloud for Microsoft Teams is currently in controlled release in Australia. Therefore, the MiCloud MS Teams Integration feature is not listed for accounts in Australia in the Add-On Features page of the Account Portal or in the Manage Add-Ons page of Account Console. To make the feature available in the Add-On Features page and in the Manage Add-Ons page, contact Support.
Getting Started with the Microsoft Teams Desktop Application
NOTE: After MS Teams Integration, if you have already logged in to the desktop or the mobile application, then log out of the application and log back in.
Logging In
To log in to Microsoft Teams:
- Open the MS Teams desktop or the mobile application.
- Enter your Office 365 credentials or single sign-on credentials to log in.
Along with the features mentioned, you can use the built-in features of MS Teams such as chat, file share, meetings, and more. For information, click Help on the MS Teams dashboard, and then click Topics.
Speed Dial
Speed dial enables you to call your favorite contacts without searching for them in the contacts list.
To add contacts from your contacts list to the Speed dial list:
- On the MS Teams dashboard, click Calls.
- In the calls tab, click Contacts.
A list of contacts is displayed. - In the Find a contact search field, type the first few letters of the contact you want to add.
- Click
next to the contact you want to add, and then click Add to speed dial.
The contact is added to the Speed dial list.
Managing Contacts
Adding a Contact
- On the MS Teams dashboard, click Calls.
- Click Contacts.
A list of contacts is displayed. - Click Add contact.
- Type a name or number for your contact.
- Type in other details, and then click Add.
Note: Fields marked with * are required fields.
Adding a Contact from Your Call History
- On the MS Teams dashboard, click Calls.
- Click History.
A list of contacts and contact numbers in history is displayed. - Click
next to the number you want to add, and then click Add to contacts. - Type in the required details, and then click Save.
Editing a Contact
- On the MS Teams dashboard, click Calls.
- Click Contacts.
A list of contacts is displayed. - In the Find a contact search field, type the first few letters of the contact you want to edit.
- Click
next to the contact you want to edit, and then click Edit contact. - Make the changes you want, and then click Save.
Deleting a Contact
- On the MS Teams dashboard, click Calls.
- Click Contacts.
A list of contacts is displayed. - In the Find a contact search field, type the first few letters of the contact you want to delete.
- Click
next to the contact you want to delete, and then click Remove Contact.
Blocking a Contact
You can block incoming calls from specific telephone numbers or a specific contact.
To block a contact, do one of the following:
- Under Contacts, click
next to the contact you want to block, and then click Block. - Under History, click
next to the contact name or the contact number you want to block, and then click Block.
Managing Calls
Placing Outgoing Calls
You can place a call using the dialpad, speed dial, contacts, or history.
Using the Dialpad
- On the MS Teams dashboard, click Calls.
- Click
. - Dial the number you want to call using the dialpad.
- Click Call to place the call.
Using Speed Dial
- On the MS Teams dashboard, click Calls.
- Click Speed dial.
A list of contacts in the speed dial is displayed. - Click
on the contact card to place the call to a contact.
Using Contacts
- On the MS Teams dashboard, click Calls.
- Click Contacts.
A list of contacts is displayed. - In the Find a contact search field, type the first few letters of the contact you want to call.
- Click
next to the contact to place the call.
Using History
- On the MS Teams dashboard, click Calls.
- Click History.
A list of contacts and contact numbers in history is displayed. - Using the scroll bar, scroll to the contact name or the contact number you want to call, and then click
. - Click Call back.
Receiving Incoming Calls

When you receive a call, a notification is displayed at the bottom-right of your screen.

Click
to hang up a call.
Other Features
See the following sections for information about the actions that can be performed while on an active call.
Muting a Call
Mutes the microphone so that other callers cannot hear you.
During an active call, click
.
Changing Your Device Settings
Device settings allow you to select your preferred audio device during an active call.
- While on an active call, click
and then click Device settings. - Select your preferred audio device from the list. This changes your microphone and speaker device for the active call.
Alternatively, you can select the preferred Microphone and Speaker from the respective drop-down lists.
Placing a Call on Hold
Places an active call on hold.
- While on an active call, click
and then click Hold. - To take a call off hold, click Hold again.
Transferring a Call
- While on an active call, click
and then click Transfer. - Dial the number you want to transfer the call to.
- Click Transfer.
Performing a Consultative Transfer
- While on an active call, click
and then click Consult then Transfer. - Dial the number you want to transfer the call to.
- After the other party answers the call, do one of the following:
- To complete the transfer, click Transfer.
- To cancel the transfer, click the red icon.
Turning on Live Captions
Teams can detect what is said in a meeting and present real-time captioning. If you have enabled the
new meeting experience, your captions will include speaker attribution. This allows you to see what is being said and who is saying it.
- To turn on live captions, click
and then click Turn on live captions. - To turn off live captions, click
and then click Turn off live captions
Viewing Participants
While on an active call, click
to view participants on the call, add a new participant, or mute other participants.
Using the Dialpad
While on an active call, click
to enable the dialpad to input your options to the Interactive Voice Response (IVR) system.
Making a Conference Call
A conference call involves more than two parties connected on a call. You can make conference calls to any internal number within your MiCloud phone system. An add-on licensing from Microsoft is required for Conference calls to external numbers (see Prerequisites).
To initiate a Conference Call:
- Dial the extension/number of the first person you want to include in the conference call and consult with that person.
- Click
. - Dial the extension/number of the next person you want to add to the conference call, and then press Enter.
- Repeat steps 2 and 3 for each additional person you want to include in the conference call.
Troubleshooting
Problem | Solution |

I do not see the Dial a number option |
- Sometimes, it can take up to 24 hours for the dialpad to appear. This is because it takes up to 24 hours for a complete synchronization between Office 365 and the Integration portal.
- Check with your system administrators to ensure MiCloud for Microsoft Teams is enabled for your account.

Blind transfer from MS Teams to an external number is not working | To blind transfer a call from MS Teams to an external number, add Trunk Access Code 9 as a prefix to the external number. |
