NOTE: This article is applicable to Sky customers. To access an article with information about swapping profiles that is applicable to MiCloud customers, see the Swapping MiCloud Profile Types article.
Authorized Contacts (Decision Makers and Phone Managers) can open a Support case to request a change to a phone profile type. Phone profile types include Managed, Virtual, Courtesy, and Analog. See the Phone Profile Types article for a complete description of the characteristics and capabilities of each type of profile.
NOTE: A phone profile consists of a phone number, a user license, and the associated
phone profile settings configured for the profile's phone number, voicemail, call screening/call forwarding rules, line buttons, and emergency (E911) locations.
Swap Considerations
Keep the following in mind when requesting a profile swap:
- Swapping a Virtual, Courtesy, or Analog profile to a Managed profile is an upgrade, which enables the addition of new Add-On Feature services if desired.
Managed profiles provide more functionality and have a higher monthly recurring charge than Virtual, Courtesy, and Analog profiles. - Swapping a Managed profile to a Virtual, Courtesy, or Analog profile is not permitted.
- Swapping a non-managed profile (Virtual, Courtesy, or Analog) to a different non-managed profile type is not permitted.
NOTE: If a one-time non-recurring charge (NRC) line item appeared on your invoice for the original phone profile, you will not be charged another one-time NRC when swapping that profile to another profile type.
