If you are a Decision Maker or Phone Manager, you can upload on-hold music resources and select which available resources to use for internal and external calls on your  MiCloud phone system.

NOTE: In addition, a variety of on-hold music resources are available through Support. See Music on Hold for details about the different on-hold music options available and for information about requesting on-hold music resources for your Miel MiCloud account.

Setting the On Hold Music for Internal Calls

You can select the default on-hold music resource to use for internal calls.

The on-hold music for external calls is determined by the user group settings. For information about selecting the on-hold music resource for a particular user group, see Managing User Groups or Creating a User Group.

  1. Log in to the Account Portal.
  2. On the Phone System menu, click On Hold Music.
  3. Under Set Default, next to Internal Call On Hold Music, click the currently selected resource.
  4. Select the new on-hold music resource to use for internal calls.
  5. Click User-added image to save the changes.

Adding an On-Hold Music Resource

You can add an audio file to use as an on-hold music resource. All on-hold music resource audio files must be CCITT μ-Law, 8 kHz, 8-bit, mono WAV formatted files.

  1. Log in to the Account Portal.
  2. On the Phone System menu, click On Hold Music.
  3. Under Manage Files, click Add Music on the toolbar.
    The Upload On Hold Music dialog box is displayed.
  4. Next to File to Upload, click Browse.
  5. Navigate to and select the file to upload, and then click Open.
  6. In the Description field, enter a short description of the on-hold music resource.
  7. Click OK to add the on-hold music resource.

Renaming an On-Hold Music Resource

  1. Log in to the Account Portal.
  2. On the Phone System menu, click On Hold Music.
  3. Under Manage Files, in the Name column, right-click the name of the on-hold music resource you want to rename, and then click Rename.
    The Update On Hold Music dialog box appears.
  4. In the Description field, enter a new description of the on-hold music resource.
  5. Click OK to rename the on-hold music resource.

Deleting an On-Hold Music Resource

  1. Log in to the Account Portal.
  2. On the Phone System menu, click On Hold Music.
  3. Under Manage Files, select the checkbox next to each on-hold music resource you want to delete.
  4. Click Delete on the toolbar.
  5. Click Yes to confirm that you want to delete the on-hold music resource.

Playing an On-Hold Music Resource

You can play on-hold music resources in the Account Portal.

  1. Log in to the Account Portal.
  2. On the Phone System menu, click On Hold Music.
  3. Under Manage Files, click next to the resource you want to hear.
