Connect SMS enables Teamwork users to send and receive SMS messages on their MiCloud phone number. Connect SMS for Teamwork is included in the Essentials, Premier, and Elite profile types. For more information about Teamwork, see the following articles:
If you are a Decision Maker or Phone Manager, you can enable and disable the Connect SMS add-on feature for Teamwork users on your account.
NOTE: Third-party SMS providers will no longer work since MiCloud controls the routing of SMS traffic through its carriers to support SMS on Teamwork.
Managing Connect SMS Users
Users must have an assigned telephone number in order to use Connect SMS. You can manage Connect SMS for Teamwork users on your account in the following ways:
- View a list of users that have Connect SMS enabled.
- Enable Connect SMS for individual users within your organization.
- Disable Connect SMS for users.
Viewing Users with Connect SMS Enabled
You can view a list of users that have Connect SMS enabled. The following information is displayed on the Connect SMS page:
- Full Name - user's name as it appears in the MiCloud database
- Phone Number - telephone number for the user
- Extension
To view users with Connect SMS enabled:
- On the Phone System menu, click Add-On Features, and then click Manage to the right of Connect SMS.
The Connect SMS page is displayed. - To filter the list, do one of the following:
- Type your filter criteria in the search field on the toolbar.
- Type your filter criteria under the appropriate column heading.
Enabling Connect SMS for a User
Connect SMS is enabled by default for all new users with an Essentials, Premier (Standard), or Elite (Advanced) profile type. If you chose not to enable Connect SMS for a user when the user was added, you can enable SMS for the user at a later time.
NOTE: It may take up 24 hours for SMS to be fully enabled for a user.
- On the Connect SMS page, click Add on the toolbar.
The Add Connect SMS Users dialog box appears. - In the Select Users panel, do the following:
- To search for a user, type the name, number, or extension of the user in the Name or Number/Extension field.
- Select the checkbox next to each user you want to enable Connect SMS for.
- Click Next.
- In the Summary panel, verify the displayed information and then click Finish.
- When prompted, click OK to confirm.
Disabling Connect SMS for a User
- On the Connect SMS page, right-click the user you want to disable Connect SMS for and then click Disable Connect SMS.
- When prompted, click OK to confirm that you want to disable Connect SMS for the selected user.
Deactivating Connect SMS
There is currently a defect related to deactivating the Connect SMS add-on feature for an account. It is highly recommended that you do not deactivate this feature at the account level at this time. If this feature is deactivated for your account, you will need to contact
Support to reactivate this feature.
