NOTE: This article is about viewing and assigning user roles and permissions in the MiCloud Account Portal. For information about viewing and assigning user roles and permissions in MiCloud Account Console, see the MiCloud User Setup article.
As a MiCloud Account Console user, you can view your assigned Authorized Contact roles and permissions in the Account Portal. If you are a Full Administrator, you can also edit the Authorized Contact roles assigned to users on your account in the Account Portal. For information about logging in to Account Portal, see MiCloud Account Portal. The Roles and Permissions tab displays the roles currently assigned to the user.
Assigning Roles
If you are a Full Administrator for your account, you can assign, edit, or unassign roles to users in your account.
To assign roles:
- On the Personal Information page, click the Roles and Permissions tab.
- Under RingCentral Roles, in the roles list, select the role to assign to the user.
- Click Add.
The role is added to the list. - In the Scope column, select one of the following:
- Account — to assign the user the role for the entire account
- Location — to assign the user the role for a specified location only
NOTES:
- A user can be assigned a role only once per location or account.
- Location cannot be selected for the Decision Maker or Billing role; these roles are account-level roles only.
- If you selected Location, select the preferred location from the Location list.
- Repeat steps 2-5 to assign additional roles to the user.
Editing Roles and Permissions
You can edit the scope of a user role. For example, if a user is assigned the role of Emergency Contact for a specific location, you can edit the scope to change the role to Emergency Contact for the entire account.
- On the Personal Information page, click the Roles and Permissions tab.
- Under RingCentral Roles, in the roles list, do one of the following for the role you want to edit:
- Select Account to change the scope of the role from location to account.
- Select Location to change the scope of the role from account to location, and then select the preferred location from the Location list.
- Select a new location in the Location list to change the location for which the user is assigned the role.
Unassigning Roles and Permissions
- On the Personal Information page, click the Roles and Permissions tab.
- Under RingCentral Roles, click Delete next to the role you want to unassign from the user.
NOTE: If an account has only one user with an Emergency Contact role, then you will not be able to unassign the role from the user. You must assign the Emergency Contact role to another user in the account before you can unassign the role from the user.
