As a MiCloud Administrator, you can order new local and toll-free numbers for your organization.

NOTES:

  • This article provides information about ordering phone numbers for US and Canadian accounts.
  • To request Global Numbers for your account, contact Support. For more information about Global Numbers, see the KB Article MiCloud Global Numbers.

Adding Local Numbers

When searching for new local numbers to add to your account, you can search by city, state, area code, zip code, or area code plus exchange (three more digits).
  1. On the Account Console menu, click Phone Numbers and then click New Local Numbers.
  2. Select one of the following tabs at the top of the page:
    • Search by City & State — search for phone numbers by entering the city or state
    • Search by Phone Number — search for phone numbers by area code or area code and exchange
  3. If you selected the Search by City & State tab, select do one of the following:
    • Search By City & State  search for phone numbers by entering the city or state
      Do the following:
      1. In the City & State field, enter the city, state, or digits to use as your search criteria. From the City & State drop-down list, select the city or state you want for your local numbers.
      2. In the Available Area Code section, select the area code of your choice. By default, the All radio button is selected.
    • Search By Zip  search for phone numbers by entering the zip code (available for US addresses only)
      Do the following:
      • In the Zip field, enter the zip code to use as your search criteria.
  4. If you selected the Search by Phone Number tab, do the following:
    1. In the Area Code field, enter the first three digits of the phone number.
    2. (Optional) In the Exchange field, enter the fourth, fifth, and sixth digits of the phone number.
  5. Do the following:
    1. In the Quantity field, select how many phone numbers that match these criteria you want to order. NOTE: You can order a maximum of 100 phone numbers.
    2. Select the Continuous Range check box if you want the phone numbers to be a range of consecutive numbers.
    3. Click Search.
  6. If you do not want to use the initial numbers that are returned in the search, click Show Next to see more options.
  7. If you have more than one location on your account, select the location to assign the numbers to in the Assign & Charge To field.
  8. Click Choose & Place Order.

Adding Toll-Free Numbers

When searching for new toll-free numbers to add to your account, you can search by just the toll-free area code or you can enter four to seven additional digits to include in your search.
  1. On the Account Console menu, click Phone Numbers and then click New Toll-Free Numbers.
  2. From the Area Code drop-down list, select the toll-free area code you want for your toll-free numbers.
  3. (Optional) Enter four to seven additional digits you want to be included in your toll-free numbers.
  4. Click Search.
    NOTE: The Search option is enabled only after Area Code is selected.
  5. If you do not want to use the initial numbers that are returned in the search, click Show Next to see more options.
  6. Select the numbers you want to add to your account.
  7. If you have more than one location on your account, select the location to assign the numbers to in the Assign & Charge To field.
  8. Click Choose & Place Order.

Inactive Local Telephone Number Fees

When more than 10% of the total local numbers on your account are reserved for future use (inactive), the following monthly fee will be charged to your account for each inactive phone number in excess of 10%. (Transferring numbers are not included in the total count of local numbers until the transfer request is complete.)

  • U.S. accounts: USD $1.00 per TN
  • Canada accounts: CAD $1.00 per TN

Example: If your account has 80 total local numbers (not including transferring numbers), up to 8 numbers can be inactive without incurring additional charges. Any inactive numbers in excess of 8 (10%) will incur a monthly fee per number.
