International Calling

« Go Back
Information

This article provides information about international calling rates and instructions for placing international calls in the MiCloud and Sky phone systems. For the purposes of this article, an international call is a call to a phone number that exists outside of the country where you are located.

NOTE: When customers located in the United States (lower 48) or Canada place standard calls to the other country, those calls are considered domestic outbound calls, not international calls.

Please note that all users of the MiCloud and Sky phone systems are restricted from dialing international phone numbers by default. To enable international dialing for one or more specific users, an Authorized Contact (Decision Maker or Phone Manager) can create a Support Case to communicate the necessary information to our Support team. Provide the name and phone number of each user who needs to be enabled to dial international phone numbers.

NOTE: If you are an Authorized Contact (Decision Maker or Phone Manager) in a Sky phone system, you can enable international dialing for individual users in your account by accessing the Calling Restrictions menu in the Features section of the Phone Settings screen. For instructions, see the Calling Restrictions section of the Phone Features Settings article.

Dialing International Numbers

To place a call to another country, use the following "On-Hook" dialing instructions:

  1. Dial the outbound dial digit, which is usually 9, followed by 011 (the international access code).
  2. Dial the desired "country code" followed by the local number. For a complete list of country codes, see the List of country calling codes Wiki page.
  3. Use one of the following ways to engage the call:
    • Lift the handset.
    • Press an inactive line button.
    • Press the speaker button.
    • Press the headset button (when a headset is attached).
    • Press the Dial soft key (when displayed).

NOTE: In addition to country codes, some countries also have city codes that you have to dial after the country code and before the local number.
