Information

As a MiCloud customer, you may have a referring partner who was your partner of record when your account was initially created at the time of sale. If you are a Decision Maker for your account, you can authorize a referring partner to perform actions on behalf of your account. You can assign the role o f Decision Maker, Phone Manager, or both to your referring partner. See Roles for information about the different roles.

If you are a MiCloud Partner, see MiCloud Referral Partners or MiCloud Resell Partners for information about managing your customer accounts.

You can also give Authorized Contact access to an IT consultant or a new partner that is not your referring partner (your partner of record at the time of sale) by adding the consultant or partner as a contact on your account and assigning an Authorized Contact role to that contact. For information about adding a contact to your account, see Adding a Contact.

Enabling Referring Partner Access

When you assign Authorized Contact roles to your referring partner, a new group is created on your partner’s account for each role you have enabled. The group name is the name of your account followed by the enabled role, Decision Maker or Phone Manager. Your partner can then add members to the appropriate group to grant Decision Maker or Phone Manager access to users on the partner account.

NOTE: Phone Managers do not have access to the Invoices & Payments page of the Account Portal. If you want your referring partner to have access to view and pay bills, you must assign the role of Decision Maker to your referring partner.

  1. On the Organization menu, under Account, click Groups.
  2. Click Partner Access on the toolbar.
The Authorize Partner dialog box appears with your referring partner account name displayed in the title bar.
  3. Under Roles, select one or both of the following checkboxes:
    • Decision Maker - to assign the partner the role of Decision Maker for your account.
    • Phone Manager - to assign the partner the role of Phone Manager for your account.
  4. Under Email Notification, do the following:
    1. Select the Yes, send email to checkbox to send an email notification of the change to the partner.
    2. In the Notify of changes field, type the email addresses to send notifications to.
A notification is sent to each email address listed. Separate email addresses with a comma.
NOTE: At least one email address must be provided; this ensures that your referring partner receives notification that they have been granted access to your account.
  5. Click OK to save your changes.

Disabling Referring Partner Access

If you are a Decision Maker for your account, you can disable Authorized Contact access for your referral partner. You can disable Decision Maker access, Phone Manager access, or both, depending on the access previously granted.

When you disable Authorized Contact roles for your referring partner, the corresponding group that was created on your partner’s account is deleted.

  1. On the Organization menu, under Account, click Groups.
  2. Click Partner Access on the toolbar.
The Authorize Partner dialog box appears.
  3. Under Roles, clear one or both of the following checkboxes:
    • Decision Maker - to remove the role of Decision Maker for the partner.
    • Phone Manager - to remove the role of Phone Manager for the partner.
  4. Under Email Notification, do the following:
    1. Select the Yes, send email to checkbox to send an email notification of the change to the partner.
    2. In the Notify of changes field, type the email addresses to send notifications to.
A notification is sent to each email address listed, notifying the partner that they no longer have access to your account. Separate email addresses with a comma.
  5. Click OK to save your changes.
