Emergency hunt groups are used to route return calls from emergency services to a set of user extensions within your MiCloud phone system. Each location configured for your account must be registered as an emergency location with an emergency outbound caller ID and have an associated emergency hunt group. For more information about Emergency Registration, see Emergency Registration (MiCloud).
The members of an emergency hunt group should only be users who are located at the geographic location the emergency hunt group is configured for. An emergency hunt group can contain a maximum of 16 members.
- Log in to the Account Portal.
- On the Phone System menu, click Emergency Registration.
- Select the Emergency Hunt Group tab.
- Do one of the following:
- To edit an existing emergency hunt group, click the name of the emergency hunt group in the list, and then click Edit on the toolbar.
- To create a new emergency hunt group, click Add on the toolbar, and then click Emergency Hunt Group.
NOTE: Emergency hunt groups cannot be copied; there can only be one emergency hunt group per location.

Changing the Position of a Member in the Member List
The default call distribution pattern for emergency hunt groups is Simultaneous. If Top Down is selected as the call distribution pattern, the position of the member in the emergency hunt group list can affect how likely that member is to receive an incoming call. When Top Down is selected, it is more likely that members closer to the top of the list will be selected to receive a call. This is because, for each new call, the hunt for a free member always begins at the top of the list.
To change the position of a member in the member list:
- Log in to the Account Portal.
- On the Phone System menu, click Emergency Registration.
- Select the Emergency Hunt Group tab.
- Do one of the following:
- To edit an existing emergency hunt group, click the name of the emergency hunt group in the list, and then click Edit on the toolbar.
- To create a new emergency hunt group, click Add on the toolbar, and then click Emergency Hunt Group.
